'87 30HP Evinrude lower unit drain plug stuck

Has anyone experienced any issues taking out the lower unit drain plug? Mine is tight in there and I'm having problems getting it out and I don't want to damage the head of the plug with the screwdriver. I can remove the vent no problemo. (BTW before you ask, yes I did check the make sure I'm loosening the drain plug and not the other screw). Thanks!

Use a rotary hammer driver like this:

Never had it fail.
