86 Merc 20hp won't shoot water

My motor starts on the first pull, but no water coming out.
I just changed the impeller and all the seals that came with the kit.

Whats next?

Check the impeller key, it may not be installed.

Just a thought.

Are you trying to pump while in the water, at tank or on a hose with muffs?

was it pumping water before you installed the new impeller?
did you rotate the driveshaft clockwise when installing top of pump housing?
is the copper tube seated in the upper and lower tube seal?

wan't seated properly
