86 Force 85HP #3 plug not working

Please help!!!<br />engine model: 856X6M<br /><br />Having problem with the spark in the third cylinder.<br />Just bought the boat and a seloc manual. The spark plug is good and the coil is good, the book says CDM or Trigger is bad. How do I eliminate the CDI? Looks like the #1 and #2 plugs are using one CDI(which looks new), the other CDI has an extra out put. Can I use this output for the the 3rd to test or use? or is it easier to test the trigger?<br />Thanks in advance.

Welcome to iboats. Triggers are pretty reliable. But sometimes the leads from them break where they meet the connector. Each CD unit controls 2 cylinders. That leaves one extra on a 3-cylinder. Go ahead and try using the other half of that CD. Won't cost ya nuthin to try.

If it is the cd - standardmagneto.com has them for about $75.00 (blue one)
