86 Force 125 Getting Up To Speed

I purchased a 86 Bayliner Capri with a Force 125 on it last summer. After Changing the plugs, cleaning the fuel tank, and rebuilding the carbs, I still cannot get the engine to go above 2500 RPM's. I have tried everything I now to do. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking forward to hearing some replies to this also. I can't seem to get engine past 5000RPM. Runs fine, but if I hit 5000 or higher RPM, it will shut down.
