I ideal great if I am half choked soon as I take it off starts to miss then die, any ideas. And what should my plug gap be

If it idles ok , but you need to use choke , then you need to clean the carburetor.----Did the motor sit for a long time with fuel in the carburetor ?

Plug gap is .030 ". You need carb work.
