Hello Everyone !

I have a question about my friend 85hp force outboat motor, The motor will start only when it's not in the water or with the ear muff with water hose.

If the motor is in the water it won't start at all. Anybody had any idea.

Thanks

Chris

Chris, This is posted in a section which says "not engine topics" I would repost it further down in the Chrysler and Force section for better results. Good luck!

Check compression and spark on each cylinder. One or two cylinders are not firing.

Needs to be in the correct section for best results. I'm with Roscoe on the response though.

Hmmmmm. It starts with no back pressure on the exhaust and won't start with back pressure.

First, make sure all cylinders are firing when out of the water. If not, fix the dead one(s).

If all fire out of the water, do a complete Link 'n' synch by the book.
