85hp force cd modules

i have a 1989 85 hp force can i put a 1986 cd module on the engine i got 2 of them for free other than paying 450 for a new pack

yes you can, if the modules have the push on connectors, cut them off and wire them direct to the terminal board. I replaced my modules for my 87, 85 hp with ones that were for i believe was a 1985 and they work just fine
