New to the site and must say what a nice set up.

Here goes, top cylinder (#1 ?)stopped firing. Traced problem back to power packs.

Since this is a 3 cylinder and the power packs are set up for 4 cylinder I replugged bad lead to the extra to check if coil was bad.

Coil fires good. What I need is a diagram on how to re-wire for timing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I also wanted to say I bought this 17' center consel back in 89. Other than one coil going bad on me 3 years ago I have never had any problems with this engine.

I'm retired Air Force and dragged this boat with me everywhere, It's been in the Atlantic ,Pacific,
Gulf of Mexico and a zillion lakes in-between.

I must have got lucky, know one can tell me these engines are bad.

Regards to one and all.

Thanks.

Re: 85 Horse Force-1989

The trigger wires for #1 cylinder are the two terminals (#11 & #12) on the far right side of the terminal strip they are either Green or WH./BR./YEL. and Orange or WH./BR./ORG.

Move the wire coming from under the fly wheel to the terminals #5 & #6 (Counting left to right).

There should be a RED or WHITE/RED wire on #6 and a White/Green wire on the #5.

In other words connect the Green or WH./BR./YEL. to the White/Green wire and the Orange or WH./BR./ORG. to the WHITE/RED wire.

Then connect the previously unused output from the second power pack to the #1 cylinder coil.

A schematic can be found on page 5-70 of the Seloc 1984 - 1999 Force Repair Manual.
