'85 Force 125 starting problems

There are 2 big problems with the engine..it dies out and it does not start most of the time.<br /><br />Right when I get on the water, it takes a few minutes to get the engine running, after doing so, we can go about 25mph for about 5 minutes before the engine dies out.<br /><br />After having the engine out for a good 20 minutes, the engine does not start up at all. Also, the boat cannot stay in idle or else the engine will die out.<br /><br />I'm sure that the battery is fine.<br /><br />Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You need 3 things for the engine to run, good fuel, good spark, good compression.<br /><br />Check all 3.<br /><br />I'd bet you are down on compression or no spark on 1 or more plugs.<br /><br />When you determine which ingredient is missing, we can work on causes and solutions.<br /><br />Also, you say it takes a few minutes to get the engine running?<br /><br />Are you squeezing the fuel primer bulb before starting?<br />Are you advancing the throttle?<br />Are you using the choke?<br /><br />No bad answers. They all help us to determine what is wrong.
