85 Bayliner Capri Aq 131 a starting questions

I have a dang bayliner with a Aq 131 a I have a problem with starting, All of a sudden it does nothing Not a darn thing!!! It clicks thats it I have jumped the neutral saftey wire on the boat before all of this I acts almost as if that is the problem I have my Ing. Switch hooked up correctly I dont get it I need help

Let me tell you a little more, If I hold the ignition switch on The Cylnoid hits but the starter doesnt engage. The boat for the last few days has not turned over the first time I hit the key but usally by the second it starts fine, I thinks I has a bad starter, which sucks because at the beginign of last season I just had it replaced Oh well whats another few hours of labor

Those are the signs of a low battery and/or bad connections. Hopefully it's not the starter again, but it could be if it ever got submerged.

I tested the battery good I think its the starter I am going to bench test it Today will let you know

It does sound like the starter. Did you replace it with new or rebuild the old one? I had the old one rebuilt several years ago and its still running fine, knock on wood!

Find a local guy who rebuilds starters/alternators you are sure to get a better price than new replacement.

Are you hearing the starter solenoid click? The click could be coming from the relay.

Check the start signal wire with a test light, I'll bet the relay is bad
