85' 140 HP Evinrude

This boat was given to me and the problem you can see with the piston is said to be due to pre ignition...
I need some recommendations... Is is possible to get just the one cylinder re-done?? Im looking for the cheapest way out. The motor runs but of coarse only on 3 cylinders.

You can put in a new piston in that bad cyl. The condition of the bore will determine if you can just hone it and put in a new stock piston, or if it needs to be overbored. You should consider a new head on that side. I'd tear apart the carb that feeds that bad cyl and visually check for debris inside all the jets, esp the main jet. Probable it was running lean for a long time.

You defineatly need a new head as you could have piston ring particals imbeded in it.
