84 evinrude 140 v4. Fast question. Gear oil

I am out on the road and want to purchase some bulk lower unit gear oil for my 84 v4 140. What gear oil do I need?

Go to Walley World or most any auto parts store and ask for lower unit outboard gear oil and they should have it. Good luck

You can use just about any brand as long as it it for a lower unit or outdrive. So if you visit a wallyworld they carry mercruiser oil too however it normally comes in a quart container and you will need to get the small pump too.

I really suggest that you get out on the water ............. if you can find water that is not frozen!

Haha I won't be finding open water till mid may at the earliest where I am from. I figured I needed a certain weight. I see a lot of 80-90 in Wally World. Is that good?

You can use a range but the thinnest is 75W. Some of the costly ones and synthetics are 75-140W but 80-90 will be fine
