Getting ready to build the new transom was curious on everyone's opinion on Epoxy ,best ,worst, etc.processes, procedures... I will be using coosa not sure of the exact plans yet. The original transom core was 1.5" thick but I will be enclosing the transom and installing an swim deck/ bracket for the outboards. If anyone has any advice, input, ideas, experience please share, thank you

Welcome to the forum!!!! When you hit your post count, post some pics for everyone. We all love pics!!!! Also, they help the guys visualize what you are trying to do so better advise can be given without trying to image what you are referring to. As for your questions, there is a divide between epoxy and poly resin. Look up Woodnglass he has a lot of great info on the forums when it comes to fiberglass. He has already prepared some helpful guides that you should be able to find here readily on the forums.

We don't know what 83 Seacraft you may have, so advice at this point will be limited.

As for resin type, it won't make much of a difference either way, they both work fine and each has been used for many decades to build boats. If using epoxy makes you feel better, use it.

Everybody starts out wanting to use only the "best" products in their project, then they tally up the cost and have second thoughts, typically they reevaluate the plan and change course a little.
