I am to the point of removing the flywheel. I have the prescribed special tool and the center 15/16 nut off.

Do I need to remove the 8 smaller bolts from the top of the flywheel prior to applying puller force, or should those 8 bolts stay in the flywheel.

The special tool is slick and the 8 bolts should be left in there.--No need to take those out unless you are replacing a broken flex plate.

thanks... flywheel is now off... as is the stator. with quite a bit of leverage there was quite a snap, and the flywheel came loose. the trigger assembly is still caught under the stator mounting bracket.
Can I pull the Stator / Trigger Mounting Bracket off now? then the electrics will entirely be free of the powerhead and all the connections kept in place. By the way.. the manual does not mention what part comes off the block next during complete dis-assembly.

The powerhead must come off the exhaust housing.---Then put the powerhead on the bench to take it apart.
