82 VIP trim problem

I have an 82 VIP with a 120 mercruiser with a power trim the trim will go up but will not go down. I replaced the switch, but still the same problem. Any suggestions

Can't remember if 82 is new enough to have both an up and down relay on the trim assy. Blue wires for up green for down.(blue sky green grass) Use a testlight back at the trim assy and see if it lights on the small green wire when you hit down on trim switch. If it does you are good from switch to trim assy. If it has a down relay/solenoid try jumping 12v to the big green wire and see if drive goes down. If it does and the test light lights on small green wire the down relay/sol or it's ground is bad.

replaced the solonoids still same problem. Any other suggestions

Use a test light on the small Green wire that is supposed to trigger the down sol. Does it light when you hit the down trim? Jump 12v to the big green wire on the same sol that goes to the trim motor does the trim motor run and drive go down?

Could be the wires in the handle are broke or wires between remote and the trim assy broke. Could be that your down Sol is not grounded, black wire to other small post on the down sol.

thanks for the advice that fixed that problem.

Now the boat will start but it runs and then dies like it is starved for fuel. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Also can you tell me the factory settings for the air and gas screws.

Ayuh,... It probably Is,... Have you changed the Filters,..??

Up in the Adults Only section are the Manuals,... Find the 1s you need, All the Info is there....

going to change the filter, but the problem was cracked and improperly sized fuel line.
