Hello, I've used the forums many many times at this site and has been very helpful through the years, not sure if this is in the right spot but i know this motor has been referred as a force, if its not please put me in the right spot. I have a 81 sears/eska gamefisher 7.5hp model number 217-585940. First question is what is the ports on the side of the powered? At sears site in the diagram they are called "adapter cover". Also, as for the cylinder head i want to check to make sure it isn't warped and would like to resurface it. How would i go about checking it? Because it isn't flat like most cylintder heads, it has a dome at goes into the cylinder.b

Profile, location. You might be close to someone who can help?
Pictures will really help. Not sure of the covers your talking about(port/starb.)
As for the warp, what are you trying to check? To check the block for warp you'll probably need to remove the pistons. A piece of glass is about as flat and even as your gonna get.Unless you wanna buy a Last Say Block. It's a granit block finshed to perfectly flat.Couple hundred $ last I knew.
To check the edges a cheap plastic ruler works.

If it's an Eska, then it's not a Force (plus Chrysler didn't become Force until the late 80's anyway). Eska's were air cooled.

I have updated my profile with my location.

They are on both port and starb. sides

I have already checked the block for warpage, that is not my concern, my concern is the CYLINDER HEAD.
I have uploaded pictures for you, in the first 2 pics, are the "adapter covers" and i the last 2 pics are of the cylinder head with the "dome" protruding which goes into the cylinder. i want to know the best way to check for warpage on the head, and if any would like to get it trued. I do know of a couple machine shops around my area but they are for car and truck engines, (I used to build SBC`s and ive built a couple blaster engines, ive been a mechanic for the past 12 years) so i know what im doing in that aspect just never dealt with a cylinder head with a "protruding dome" lol. nor do i know if they deal with small outboard engines, figured i would ask people that have more experience in the outboard scene.20130328_152133.jpg20130328_152143.jpg20130328_152201.jpg20130328_152209(1).jpg
