8 hp outboard flooding when I pump bulb ?

I have a 1986 8 hp (E8RCDE) It has become hard to start lately and I noticed while I was trolling I pumped the bulb and she wanted to die out. thought maybe theres a connection with my starting troubles flooding ? Thanks Guys John

There's a possibility that you may need to check your float level and see that it isn't adjusted too high.

Could it be my primer? Maybe when I pump the bulb it shooting thru the primer?
