8 HP lower cowling removal

How hard is it to remove the lower cowling on a Yamaha 2016 8hp outboard?

Why do you need to remove the lower cowling for ? It's not that complicated but will take a long hand labor time.

The motor is brand new but when I was installing it on my drift boat it fell and now has a small crack in it. Not too awful bad but still not pretty. Looking at the diagram it looks easy except for the one bolt on the right side. I do not want to pull the entire head to get to that bolt. some epoxy might by in its future.

If possible try to patch the damage with something that will hold well and looks neat, if the powerhead is removed, will need to install a new base gasket in the event it was sealed with a sealer and breaks while the powerhead is being pulled out the lower cowl ?

Thank you for your advice. I kind of thought it but needed to confirm with someone with more experience.
