I have a 2005 Four Winns 268, After taking out on the water it started to overheat. Then we took it back to the slip, this has a closed loop cooling system. I first took the hose off the discharge side of the raw water pump, A little water came out and steam, then I took the suction side hose off and water flowed freely into the boat. After connecting the hoses, I fired it up and it started cooling. I ran it for about 2 hours and no overheating. We stopped and dropped anchor for the night, and the next morning we went to leave, and it started to overheat again. Pulled the hoses off again and fired it up and it started to cool. It has a new raw water pump, new exhaust manifolds, the hoses look clean, the heat exchanger is clean. NOT SURE WHAT TO CHECK NEXT Any suggestions greatly appreciated

What Volvo impeller part number did you install?
Was the impeller new before or after the overheat?
Is there a letter after 8.1osi-?

Make sure the cap cover (#22) for the water hose flushing port mounted on the engine is really tight and the washer (#25) is in good condition because if not, it will suck air and cause an issue such as that.

Another possible concern could be the date the new impeller was made as that number has superseded a few times over the years... Sometimes there may be a date made on the box.... But I was more concerned about the correct fitment as they have a few different sizes that if installed in the wrong housing, this could happen, but it seems your ending in the 50 number would have been the correct one... If you have the old one still, compare sizes the next time you have it apart.

21213650 now = 21213660
