79 Johnson 140 hp HELP!!

Bought a 85 ranger 361 v lat night with a 79 Johnson 140 having problems ,not starting.
Checked the ohms coming from the stator 510 ohm ,is ther a way to check power coming from power pack ,what is the reading suppose to be?
Is there something else I should be checking,I'm not getting nothing out of my coil wires ,could it be the stator.Any help would be grateful.

Find the black/ yellow wires going to the power packs and disconnect them. If you have spark then you have a boat prob. If not you have a mtr prob.
