79 90hp 2 stroke 6cyl no go...

Hey all,

I have had great success in the past with all the info you guysl bring, time to try it out again.. My Merc, Canadian s/n 7123665 is not running and I am just about to go wild.. after lots of troubleshooting I have found that I am getting strong spark from all wires to the block.. I have an even 130 on all 6cyl and there seems to be no shortage of fuel.. sucker wont even pop if I shoot ether at the carbs. I have done all this testing while fully charged with minimal volt droppage.. I have re terminated all batt connections and surfaced every ground I could find.

Ok... so the spark is not quite as strong at the the wires as I originally thought... I am getting a good heavy blue spark at the coil and then it iseems to die down enroute to the plugs, from a visual point of view. I am now leaning against changing out the cap and rotor, wires and plugs, do you think I would need to buy a entirely new distro body aswell?? super expensive. Please guys, any help would be great.. I have been humbled since the day I bought this sucker.

Check the carbon brush in the distributer cap...

I would try the plug wires and plugs first before buying anything else.
