How hard is it to replace and where is it? The mechanic checked the temp specs and said it was good. Thanks!!

There is one under the cover plate on each head.

Are you sure they are both bad?

No, I don't know if both are bad. Is there a test to check? How hard are they to get to?
Thanks!

They're pretty easy to get to but what problem are we trying to correct?

Re: '79 115 Evinrude temp sensor

The alarm seems to be going off without the heads overheating. I have checked the thermostats, impeller etc. All are fine. Will run great one day and the next I have the alarm going off after about an hour of running. I shut the engine down, wait a few minutes and the alarm stays off until I bring the throttle up.....

When it happens again, disconnect each sender and see if the alarm stops. Perhaps we can at least narrow it down to just one.

Are you sure the temp is really OK when the alarm is sounding? Positive? It sounds just like the deflectors in the block have swelled and are causing a restriction.

That sounds like a great plan. Will do and get back to you. Thanks for your help! This boat is new to me and I am really trying to get it ironed out! Thanks again.
