Will the carbs off of a 1982 Evinrude 115 work on a 1978 Johnson 115?
The rebuild kit is the same part number....so maybeWill the carbs off of a 1982 Evinrude 115 work on a 1978 Johnson 115?
I take it you have a parts motor. Take a look how they plumb the primer...is their one tube to the carb and one to the intake? You might have to pull the intake too.I have the electric primer valve. Can I convert my choke solenoid type to the primer type? (Actually, I have been wanting to do away with the choke solenoid setup. The plastic clip on the end of the plunger was brittle and snapped in half. I repaired it with epoxy, but I think that made it too heavy. Sometimes I have to pull the top cover off and manually choke to start. A real pita. I haven't been able to find a replacement part for it) Didn't want to mess with it until I had to, but my carbs definitely need some attention. After a day out on the water I can see fuel seeping through the bowl gaskets!
Good plan!Yes. the tubes go to intake and carbs. I've decided to just pull the carbs off the 78 and rebuild. The 82 isn't necessarily a "parts motor"...more like a "spare motor" that I plan on using if/when the rings break on the 78. I should probably not start picking parts off of it and keep it complete
