Hi is there a Bolt Supply where you are? Also I found fastenall a good source for the solid rivets though I would go in person as I negotiated a bit on pricing.

Fastenal wanted almost 1100 for a thousand, wouldn't sell less...went with JayCee, just under 100 CAD for 50.

So, I may have experienced that broken glass in the vaseline moment...not sure that looks right...

Not sure the exact head size I got, but I purchased 200, 3/16, wide flange rivets for 30 CAD from acklands grainger. My solids I purchased from hanson rivets out of the states. it was roughly 100CAD to my door with the die for the air hammer and 1000 aircraft grade rivets. Probably doesnt help much now though.

So, question for the collective while I'm figuring out a plan to deal with my lifted knee brace...has anyone added or moved the drain to the bottom of the hull? My little tinny has one, with a small rear-facing cover, and it does an excellent job of draining the boat on the trailer. The one on these boats seems designed to hold some water, even after a bilge pump has worked it's magic...

So, after ruminating on my knee brace issue for the last few days, and re-reading FIGMO's thread (p13), I think I know why the knee brace separated from the bottom of the hull. I think whomever it was that replaced the transom did it with the floor in place, had the same gap, or close to it, and then used the bolts to the stern to tighten it up, pulling the bottom of the brace off the rivets in the hull; one of the bottom rivets fell out, and the transom'er put a bolt and washers in it to seal the impending leak. After work, I'm going to loosen the nuts on the transom, and see if there is any movement in the brace.

If the rivets are installed correctly, they shouldn't have separated. With that said, sounds like you have a good plan to fix, If you do have that "space" where the transom meets the knee you should be able to shim with some Aluminum stock
