fixed my stator a while back, wires were worn in two at the stator had to cut in and make new connections. was wondering what the best way to tell if the stator is actually charging batteries, with out having to find out the hard way at the lake. stuck the meter on the two yellow wires coming out, was jumping alot and settled on about 13v. pulled the wires off battery with the engine running and it died, should it have stayed running if the stator was working? My rpm has never worked either probably something to do with this? any help would be appreciated

bad to disconnect battery cable with motor running, most of the time it will blow the rectifier.. also bad cable connections, and hooking up battery cables backward will kill rectifier
check out the thread listed below, laddie has posted a chart for a rectifier
