Does any one have a diagram of the bearings and seals in the lower unit as there was some milkyness in oil . Also in the photo there was to the left of that shifter a small plastic fitting looks like a fishtank airline fitting .what is this thing? Thank you

That would be the feed for your speedometer.-----That is if there is a speedometer installed on your boat.

The "fish tank fitting" is the drain plug for the lower unit. It has a magnet to hold on to filings.

How fresh and charged is the battery? Clean all the black and red cables from the battery to the starter, including the solenoid. As we always say, Bright and shiny.

Take a look at the leading edge of the gearcase.-Is there wee hole ?---Is that hole connected to the " fishtank fitting " yes or no ?

Yup that must be it speedometer i knew they were air pressure controlled but never found anything else ...any way i think it was because i was trying to pull it from the ground not in the boat long story short ripped it apart for no reason . But at least now i wont have any problem changing the water pump ..she runs alright on ears i let her burn 2 or three gallons
