77 mod 35 hp high rpm probs

i have a 77 model 35,it runs ok thru all the ranges,but as it gets hot it starts surgeing at wot..sometimes it misses hard,i can back it off to half throttle,for a few and then go back to wot for a minute or two before it happens again...

Is it overheating? Water pump working?

Sounds like the high speed jet might be restricted. Does pumping the primer bulb help when the problem happens?

i didnt try to pump the bulb,didnt think about it..and would know how to tell if it was overheating or not,,its spitting plenty of water out of the bottom of it...
i did look at it when i got it home and found that it wasnt opening the throttle plate all the way,,i adjusted it hoping it is king of a timing issue..and i wasnt sure if it could be overheating,,its kinda hard manage all that and drive at the same time..

oh and i did rebuild the carb when i got it,new parts and all,,boiled it out with actuall carb dip,so i think that should be good..
