'76 1150 lower unit won't separate

after removing nuts and bolts unit will not drop down, it appears the long single stud is seized. Sprayed lubricant and achieved 1/4 inch gap closest to prop but the end with single long stud isn't budging.. Even tried removing stud but failed. Any ideas That may help??

OK, That gearcase will have 5 nuts and a bolt hidden under the zinc anode. Did you get them all?

2 of the nuts, one on each side above the anti-ventilation plate, can be loosened but can't be removed until the unit has been lowered

That long front stud will probably need heat to help break it free. Then while it's hot put the nut back on a few threads and tap it down with a hammer or apply pressure. Be careful not to crack the nose of the casing. When you reassemble use thread sealant on the threads and shanks.
