1983 model. After a three minute warm up at idle this motor runs great for about 5 or 10 minutes and then stops or at least bogs down and won't run at idle. Once it cools it runs fine again. Starts easily. Does this indicate that more oil is needed and if so how does one adjust the injectors? Should I pour some 2-cycle oil into the tank to see if that makes it run a half hour?

I get a good flow of cooling water in the indicator stream plus with the exhaust. But who knows what flow is good enough. I did get a new water pump impeller installed a few years back and of course the motor runs so few hours per year that I find it hard to believe that this is worn.

That's a 36 year oldie, seems an electric failure, any component heats up, shorts, stops the motor and once has cooled will start and idle good to miss again shortly. A water pump issue will trigger the temp sensor and lessen the rpm if having one , but should not turn a motor off, an electric failure will. The motor runs great and bogs down at which speed ? Need to perform an Ohm and DVA electrical troubleshoot on each component...

What makes you think that it is overheating? Having you checked the temperature? My Suzuki is newer so I am not familiar with whether or not yours has a temp alarm like Sea Rider mentioned.

This could be so many things beyond just overheating. If it is pushing out water and the same rate as previously, then it sounds like something else. A new impeller is never a bad thing to have though.

Impellers dry out if not used much. It's not a good thing that you replaced the impeller a few years back and only run it a few hours a year. Since the motor runs then bogs down I would check or replace the fuel filter and make sure the vent is clear. Also if you can duplicate the problem at home check the primer bulb to see if it's firm or soft and if you can pump it when the motor bogs down.

No and No.

"how does one adjust the injectors?"

you don't, does the motor have fuel injectors?
