I have a 1973 65HP Triump Evinrude Motor, Model
65372 which has been stored for a number of years.
The engine starts and run goods at a low speed, however when you give it gas to take off it will only get up to about 3,000rpm and never plain out. Perhaps it is the high speed jet and if so how do you go about cleaning the jets.

Thanks in advance for you help.

davis,

At minimum, I would rebuilsd all three carburetors. That looper 3-cyl. is VERY sensative to having the carbs just right.

Also, check all the fuel lines and replace them if in doubt.

Don't forget to put in a new water pump impeller and service the lower unit.

Howdy, Davis.

If your problem is fuel, DJohns is right on.

You might verify that all 3 cylinders have a good, hot spark before you tear into the carbs. That engine will really fool you at idle and low speed when it is running on 2 cylinders.

Good luck.
