Hello all, great site by the way.
I am looking at a boat for someone and know very little about it.

It’s a 1972 Johnson 100 V4
model 100ESL72R
SN 13685403

Symptom is this.

The boat was pulling skiers for about 2 hours.
While idling, the engine stalled with no warning.
Hit the key, the engine cranked over normal and started right up.

Pulled skiers for another hour.
The engine stalled again, at idle with no warning, just shut off.
Hit the key, the engine cranked over normal and started right up.

Pulled skiers for 15 minutes.
The engine stalled again, at idle with no warning, just shut off.
But now it would crank over normally but had no spark.

Got the boat on the trailer and took it to a repair shop.
2 hours later the mechanic verifies that it has no spark.

A few days later it ends up in my driveway.
I hit the key and the engine is running in less that one second of cranking.
I try 3 more times and the engine runs instantly.

When he first told me the story I thought it was a heat related issue with an ignition component. But the second time he added to the story and mentioned the engine coming right back to life the first two times.

So now what? Dirty contacts in the ignition switch?

Also I am not familiar with the names of everything.
Like I keep hearing “power box” is that what I would refer to as “ignition module”

Anyway would someone tell me what the ignition related parts are in these pics
And then how to test them if it does stall out again.
A schematic would be a great help as well.
