temperature (some of the old ones used it to activate choke)

I believe the temperature sensor is at the top right side in the water jacket.
This sensor is at the bottom left below the water jacket.

There are two of them. The one on the top, starboard side of the cylinder head is for the hot horn. The one on the bottom, port side is for the automatic warm up function of the electric choke. It should be disconnected per the following service bulletin. Don't forget to install the jumpers as is indicated, because the electric actuation of the choke from the throttle/control box will only actuate the solenoid partially, if you don't.
