have a 71 50 hp evinrude just rebuilt bored 30 over new waterpump starts and runs ok water coming out the exhaust relief holes but on the water after about 5 minutes the alarm went off shut the engine down and removed the cover after about 5 minutes restarted it and left the hood off ran thru a 1/4 tank gas and the alarm did not sound at all put the hood back on and after about 4 minutes the alarm sounded again shut the engine off took the hood off again and ran at different speeds and rpms for 10 or 15 min the alarm stayed off again checked the air vents in the hood they are open and clean since the engine was just rebuilt and bored 30 over could this have any effect on the heat this was the first time on the water since rebuilding the engine any suggestions would be helpful thank you
