I just inherited a 17' Logic boat with a 1999 70hp Johnson outboard motor and am trying to reconnect the ignition switch. I have the following 6 wires.....red, yellow/red, black, purple, purple/white, & black/white. I have the following terminals A, M, M, B, S & C. Can anyone help me attach the wires to the correct posts?

Re: 70hp Johnson Ignition Wiring

Here is what is listed in my Clymer manual that covers 95-98 2-70 hp motors. I would imagine it is the same.

A - purple
M (different from the rest of the terminals) - black/yellow
M - black
B - red/purple
S - yellow/red
C - purple/white

Need wiring diagram for ignition switch. Switch has four terminals on it. Two for ignition, one for the battery and one for the starter. I have a book, but it does not clearly show where the wires go. I need to know which wires hook up to the blocking diode. It also has a choke switch and a hot horn. I need to know where each wire goes coming out of the harness and which wires connect to the diode and the horn.

Thank you,

Thank you,

trucker21, you need to start a fresh post with your question so it isn't lost in this post.
