Congrats on getting it running,

Factory spec on that idle mixture screw is 1-3/4 turns out from seat, i would consider that a minimum because of the age and depending on the weather conditions and elevation i wouldnt be surprised if it needed a little more.

Idle speed on that engine is 1200 rpms +/- 100rpms in nuetral, i know that sounds high but it is what it needs to be set at. It will run lower than that but will not circulate oil properly and could ruin your motor.

Thanks for that, I'll keep it up to 1200. I pulled the lower unit off and the shafts looks terrible. I'll get a couple pics on here.

Ive seen it before, the material Honda used on some of those old drive shafts can be terrible. Its been a while but the couple that i have seen the lower drive shaft would deteriorate at the seals or water pump impeller. But as long as you can get it to seal up you should be good.

Ive tried replacing it with one off a newer motor without any luck. Unfortunately it totaled 1 or 2 engines on me because that lower drive shaft is NLA.

Yes, can't find the shafts or keys, I may spin it 180* and try to drill a new hole for the pin on the shaft. Thanks for your help on this Hondam.
