Hope somebody has a diagram for this one. I checked the site mentioned in the sticky folder, and they do not list mine.

I have a 3 cylinder 55 HP, model 55ESL69C, this is one that used the infamous spark "amplifier".

motor and boat was a freebie, Mice set up shop under the motor cover, and the engine wiring harness is shot, it has been mice chewed, and much of the insulation was so brittle it just falls off. Most of the exposed copper wire is green.

I temporarily rigged up a new start solenoid, and it turns over, and has about 115 PSI compression, all 3 cylinders are about the same PSI. If I had a diagram, I could rewire it enough to see if I can get spark.

hope somebody can help me out.

Thanks,
Steve W.

Thank you sooooo much! I was just reading the threads Tim Frank directed me towards, and seems like the thing to do is forget about that big rubber plug, and make up my own wiring harness, and since most of the insulation is discolored/missing, this diagram is going to go a long way in helping me work it out. Now I just have to hope the amplifier is not fried.
