'67 starcraft jupiter question

I need to know if I have to re rivet any rivets I drill out or can I use ss screws? Gunwale panels are in to replace deck and there riveted . Yes, I'm a newbie

Both will work, stainless is a good choice since it won't react badly with aluminum. I personally prefer to re-rivet.

If they are below the water line and thru-hull use 3M 5200 to keep them sealed up.
