66 Jonhson waterpump problem

I have A great running 66 johnson 9.5, untill i tried to put a waterpump in. Waterpump went in great but the copper tube from the pump to head disconnected somehow. Without pulling the head off is there any way to connect it back on?

Nope. Not only that, the shift rod boot that the bottom end goes through is obsolete, so don't tear it up. If the boot is torn, the motor will breathe and choke to death on it's own fumes. And pulling the powerhead is great sport.

Thanks for the advise it was definently good sport, actually it was like taking my 67 chevelle apart. Broken bolt here broken bolt there, but got her done and is now pumping water great.
