65 hp fuel pump question

I have a 71 650 Thunderbolt. I don't seem to be getting fuel to the carbs. If I take the line loose that goes from the fuel pump to the carbs. Should there be fuel coming out of the pump when I crank the motor? I don't know how to check to see of the pump is bad.

Fuel should come out of that line when you pump the primer bulb.

My fuel pump was pretty simple, only one screw to remove to get to the diaphragm.
