65 Evinrude 9.5 starter outer bearing

Hi All,

This place has been a wealth of information and helped me to get an old engine thats been sitting for more than a decade running like a top. the only problem I am having, at the moment, is that the starter cord wont rewind. I pulled the starter and disassembled it. The outer bearing to the spring is missing. not a piece to be found. The rest of it looks to be in great shape. My problem is I cant seem to locate the part. Can anyone tell me where I can get this part? or how to fix the starter in another way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are probably in luck...... the 9.5 starter (recoil system) is mostly 100% parts available via shop evinrude.com available means any dealer (evinrude dealer) can order and get the parts.
