60hp merc stator problem??

started off thinkin switch box maybe bad now that i think that i have checked the stator right im thinkin it is bad...... disconnected the blue and red wires off the stator tried to ohm them out not getting anything at rest or tryin to start...... could this be my problem or is there more??

im not sure what the correct ohms should be but you should have some resistance across the stator if its just showing an open the stator is bad

yea i aint got any ohms period goin through the stator...... red and blue wire are the ones i should be checkin right??? if so im not gettin anythin jus like a open circuit

sounds right there should only be 2 wires coming down the right sde of the engine from the stator, if your not showing ne resistance on those 2 wires the stator is no good
