I have a 2002 60hp merc with no spark. I was trying to fog engine (running) when the starter engaged at the same rime. I immediately shut down and then tryed to restart but no go. I traced the problem o 30 amp fuse. replaced fuse, tryed to start but it only turned over, no start. I traced the blown fuse problem to the grnd wire in the throttle control box, which had burnt thru to come in contact with another live wire. I repaired grnd wire within control box, motor turns over but i still have no sprark at plugs. Anybody know where I might go from here to correct problem.

Re: 60hp merc no spark

Disconnect the wiring harness at the engine, jump the starting solenoid and see if you get spark.

If the grd wire you are talking about was a black/yellow wire the it may have burned the switch box up
