Hi folks, motor is 7 years old fresh water only. Run 4 months a year up here in Canada. Starts fine no problems warning beep goes on for ten secondsfter engine has run for 10 seconds. Will run at 3500 rpm for about 5-15 seconds then slows down and won't run over 1500 rpm without bogging down. When I stop and let it sit for a short period it will run fine then bog down again. Every now and then it will run fine but that is becoming less and less frequent. I run premium gas only and have a separate in line fuel filter that I change regularly. Tried squeezing the primer bulb but I am pretty sure that the problem is the vst. am I on the right track?
EDIT figured the problem out. After cleaning out the vst, the problem reappeared. Ran poorly for two weeks. For no reason I hooked a meter up to the battery and it registered 16.5 volts. Thinking this odd I left the stereo on overnight. The next day the engine ran great. I waited a few days and the problem reoccurred. Immediately I turned on the running lights stereo and fish finder problem stopped and started running perfectly again. Talked to the dealer and he looked at me like I had a hole in my head. Maybe I do but my engine is running fine again and the only thing that I can attribute my problem to was overcharging.
