58 Johnson 35HP rebuild powerhead

I have a tired 35HP and wondering about how much a rebuild of powerhead would be.Just a typical boat shop professional not a DIY rebuild.Realize a lot of variables involved but just an estimate is fine.Thanks

You could buy a way newer engine than what that would cost. I doubt if you would ever find a shop to take that job on. They would spend way to much time just tracking down the needed parts. The man I sometime's work with is also retired, and we work on a lot of the older engine, especially the fishing motor's. We certainly would advise any any on from doing a rebuid like that. Usually just a price quote will kill that idea.
