Hi there,
I am in the process of restoring a 1957 Rockholt utility crusier. The top is mohagany and the hull seems to be straight plywood. The transom was replaced and is glassed in. Luckily there is nearly no rot, and the small spots that were have been fixed with west marine epoxy filler. My question is, now that the body is straight I need to find a paint that will be economical and nice. I have contemplated rolling the paint on with a foam roller, and spraying (which requires a trip to my friends shop, who is unreliable). Any suggestions on paint? It's only 14ft and I need something that is easy to find in Portland.

Thanks in advance,
Sal

Re: 57 rockholt paint questions

I had good luck with Interlux paint. I noticed that Lowes now carries a topside marine paint. Have not used it though. If you can't spray it, use the roll and tip method described in this forum. We had great results with it. God luck. Mike
