Hello, I own a 57 wagemaker with a 57 johnson 35 hp. It has a keyed ign. but the choke wiring is taped off and has no switch. I would like to activate the choke. My question is what is the part no. for a choke switch and where can one be found?
Thanks!

Re: 57 johnson choke

If the ignition switch has a "C" terminal on the back of it, the choke is activated by pushing the key inwards, in which case the choke solenoid wire would attach to the "C" terminal of that switch.

If no "C" terminal, any toggle switch will function as a choke switch. A 12 volt source attaches to one terminal of the toggle switch, the choke solenoid wire attaches to the remaining toggle switch terminal.

Scotteh, I would love it if you would post a couple pics of your setup.
