'57/'59 35hp powerhead swap?

I'm assuming that a '57 35hp powerhead will bolt right on to replace a '59 35hp. Is that correct? Is the main difference the fibreglass hood? Any other differences? thx.

No, the '59 uses a dual-line water pump to recirculate the water. The '57 does not. Consequently, the powerhead-to-midsection mating surfaces are different. I believe a '58 Super Seahorse (not Seahorse) would work. If Chinewalker, FR, Joe, or Paul comes by, they can shed more light.

Boat Bouy is correct. the '58 Super Sea Horse and Larks were a total redesign. It was carried through in it's basic form all through the 1960s as a 40hp.
