It is because people are incapable of listening. I tried explaining to some people that the Yamaha is a 2 relay system, even with the wiring diagram I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. Now they find it on Google and it's the gospel. Google is the bible of the parts tosser.

All Yams use two relays of a fashion. Those that have trim and tilt or power tilt. Some integrated together within one unit. Some use two separate relays. Ala Mercury.

Google is not needed. Outboard motor forums not needed.
