Before changing my oil last fall with the motor running in the driveway with the muffs on I see a hose that comes off I think to believe is the fuel injector. It is a rect aluminum box on the left side of the motor looking from the back. The hose goes up and over the motor and comes out of the shell just behind where the steering linkage connects. This hose is leaking fuel like it's flowing through a soda straw. I stuck a pencil in it and it stopped so I could warm up the motor and change the oil. It is in storage but I will have to deal with it in a couple of months. The last few times we had it out I could see a rainbow on the water but there is no way is was flowing that much or from that hose. I would have run out of fuel in an hour or so.

How many hoses are connected to the rectangular box you describe?

What is your engine s/n?

I have a manual for that engine and can send it to you if you PM me with an email address.

I seem to remember 3 or 4. It is in storage shrink wrapped at a friends house 80 miles from here. The Mecury manual I have is at our camp 80 miles from here as well. I looked through it well and it didn't show anything about my problem. I hope you have something different than mine. We will be up for the weekend and my paperwork is in our basement. I will get it and hopefully give the S/N and maybe if it shows a picture of the fuel Injection I can tell you how many hoses come off of this aluminum block. We bought this Bentley Pontoon boat new in 07 and I have babied this thing. It sits in our driveway and goes in and out of the lake about 4-5 times a year and I still change the oil and lower end every fall. The lower end comes out looking like mountain dew.

If you PM me your address, I can send you the section I think you need. It sounds like you may be talking about the fuel cooler. Do you remember if it was fuel under pressure coming out of the tube?

The box is the (VST) Vapor separator tank. It contains the high pressure fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. the hose that is running fuel is the over flow, and it should only be venting fuel vapor. there is a needle and seat valve inside that should not allow fuel to flow, I would say that this valve is stuck in the open position. Either tap on the vst while it's running this might break it lose, or you have take it apart and see what's going on.
