The old owner of my 50hp johnson painted over the plate with the year and model # is there anywhere else can i find out what year it is. I think its is somewhere between the 80''s AND 90's. thanks
ASometimes there is a quarter sized disc, a welch plug, on the top of the cylinder with model number imprinted. If not post several pics and folks can narrow it down.
I am thinking late mid to late 90s early 2000s. It has the decals of around 98/99 models but should be gray and yours looks repainted. I am leaning late 90s model.
